The site is live.

benmiles.dev is up. What it is, what it runs on, and why I built it this way.

This site is live on my own domain now. It collects the five things I'm working on: Rackd, the fashion marketplace; Penfield, the medical imaging research; Catalog1, a slower kind of commerce; Aarau, the typeface I drew; and UCR, the radio protocol.

It's a static Next.js build, which means the whole thing is plain HTML served from a CDN. No database, no accounts, nothing to log into. Everything you can read is prerendered at build time, and every font file is self-hosted, including Aarau, which this site is set in.

I wanted it to feel like a printed document rather than an app: oversized type, thin rules, real screenshots, and no decoration that isn't carrying information. This journal is where the build logs go. Each entry covers what actually shipped, pulled from the real commit history of the projects.
